Women’s Rights Program

Women’s Rights Program

Description of the program

The women’s rights in Palestine program is based on launching campaigns and organizing awareness meetings on women’s rights, international conventions and law by focusing on combating discriminatory practices against women that continue to be covered by cultural values, customs or the rule of law.

The women’s rights in Palestine program raises awareness about the fact that the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, and the amendment of unfair laws alone, cannot guarantee the desired results for the empowerment of women. This program is tailored for college and university students who are looking to understand the women’s rights situation in Palestine.

Do I need a visa to enter Palestine?

The Palestinian Authority is not responsible as Palestine has no control over the state borders of Israel. The Israeli government however requires a visa for you to enter Israel and its authorities are responsible for providing you with a visa, either upon your arrival, or through its embassies/consulates prior to your visit.

Visas are routinely granted upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport (Tel Aviv) if you are a citizen of an exempted country, or at the Allenby-King Hussein Bridge Israel-Jordan border crossing. Tourist visas are valid for 90 days; most Americans and Europeans are issued three-month visas upon arrival and clearing customs.
