The Study Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) in Palestine (1-12 Weeks) Program, offered by Go Palestine in Hebron, is designed for international learners from around the globe who wish to master Modern Standard Arabic (MSA). As the official language of education, media, and journalism across the Arab world, MSA holds significant cultural and professional importance. The program offers two options: intensive courses with four educational hours per day, or super-intensive courses with six educational hours per day.
The Study Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) program provides one-on-one individual classes, ensuring a tailored learning experience based on each student’s specific linguistic needs. This personalized approach allows learners to focus on key language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—in an integrated and effective manner.
Arabic, one of the six official languages of the United Nations, is among the most widely spoken languages globally. It serves as the primary language across the Levant, the Arabian Peninsula, and North Africa. Known as “the language of Daad,” Arabic is uniquely characterized by the presence of the letter daad, a sound not found in any other language in the world.
The Fastest Way to Learn Arabic
If you’re determined to learn Arabic quickly, enrolling in an intensive language program is your best option. These courses typically provide 4–6 hours of daily instruction, offering consistent immersion and steady progress.
At the Palestinian Center, students can see remarkable improvements in their Arabic skills within a matter of weeks. Daily practice, focused lessons, and constant exposure create an ideal environment for rapid learning. Each session helps learners absorb new concepts, boost their confidence, and advance toward fluency efficiently.
When Can You Study Modern Standard Arabic in Palestine?
The Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) Program in Palestine is designed with flexibility in mind, making it easy for students to plan their learning journey based on their personal schedules and goals. Unlike fixed-date programs, this course allows participants to choose their own start and end dates, offering a level of convenience that suits a variety of needs.
Whether you’re a university student on summer break, a professional taking time off work, or simply someone eager to dive into Arabic at your own pace, this program adapts to your timeline. You can decide how long you want to study—whether it’s a few weeks for a quick introduction or several months for a more in-depth experience. This customizable approach ensures that every student gets the most out of their time in Palestine, focusing on their unique goals while enjoying a structured yet flexible learning environment.
How Does Living in Palestine Improve Your Arabic?
The best way to truly master a language is by immersing yourself in a place where it’s spoken daily. While classroom lessons provide a solid foundation, real-life practice and cultural interaction are what truly bring a language to life. Studying Arabic in Palestine offers a unique and enriching environment for this kind of immersion.
Unlike other Arabic-speaking regions with large expatriate communities, Palestine has fewer English-speaking spaces. This means you’ll find yourself naturally relying on Arabic to communicate, whether you’re ordering food, asking for directions, or chatting with locals at a market.
This constant exposure pushes you to practice daily, sharpening your listening, speaking, and comprehension skills at a much faster pace. Beyond the language itself, you’ll also gain cultural insights that textbooks can’t offer—understanding expressions, gestures, and the social nuances of communication. In Palestine, Arabic becomes more than just a subject to study; it becomes a tool for connection, exploration, and meaningful interactions.
In Hebron, the Palestinian Center offers essential tools and opportunities to fully immerse yourself in local culture, connect with the community, and form meaningful relationships with residents. This enriching experience not only enhances your Arabic language skills but also fosters personal growth.

2. Super Intensive Modern Standard Arabic Courses (one on one) – 6 Hours / 5 Days a Week

Why You Should Study Arabic
- Arabic, known as the language of Daad, is one of the most widely spoken languages within the Semitic language family. It is spoken across the Arab world and extends to many regions such as Turkey, Ahwaz, Mali, Chad, Senegal, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Iran, and South Sudan.
- The Arabic language is a key representative of ancient Arab and Islamic culture and civilization. It is a living, modern language that reflects a broad spectrum of human societies and is integral to a vital geographical region that garners significant global attention.
- With the growing demand for Arabic learning by non-native speakers for reasons ranging from political, diplomatic, and economic to religious, cultural, educational, and even touristic purposes, there is an increasing need for quality Arabic language programs.
- Recognizing this gap, the Palestinian Center for Education has developed a comprehensive and innovative Arabic language program for non-native speakers. This program is designed to meet the diverse goals of learners, offering a distinctive, up-to-date, and unconventional approach to Arabic language education.
What Are the Differences Between MSA and Palestinian Arabic?
Modern Standard Arabic (MSA)
Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), also known as Fus’ha, is the formal, standardized version of Arabic used throughout the Arab world. It is the language of written communication, used in literature, official documents, and media such as news broadcasts and formal speeches.
MSA adheres to strict grammatical rules and is consistent across different regions, making it a unifying language for Arabic speakers from various countries. However, MSA is rarely spoken in everyday life, and it is primarily learned through formal education. Its structured nature makes it ideal for professional and academic settings, though it does not reflect the informal, conversational style of daily communication.
Levantine Arabic – Palestinian Ammiya
Palestinian Ammiya, a dialect of Levantine Arabic, is the spoken vernacular used in everyday communication throughout Palestine. Unlike MSA, Ammiya is informal and deeply intertwined with local culture. It reflects the unique history of the region, influenced by languages such as Turkish, Hebrew, and English.
The grammar of Palestinian Ammiya is more flexible, and its vocabulary can differ significantly from MSA, making it more accessible for casual, day-to-day interactions. Palestinian Ammiya evolves over time, adapting through social and generational shifts. It is learned naturally within families and communities, and while it is not used for formal writing or official purposes, it is central to cultural identity and daily conversations.

The communicative approach not only enhances the learning experience by encouraging students to practice their language skills but also creates a supportive environment that helps build confidence in their abilities. With individualized instruction, students can progress at their own pace, receiving tailored guidance to improve both their proficiency and comfort in using the Arabic language.

What visa do you need to Study Arabic in Palestine?
To study Arabic in Palestine, obtaining an Israeli tourist visa allowing a stay of up to 3 months is necessary. Acquiring a volunteer visa directly in Palestine can be challenging.
Visa Requirements for Palestine
If you belong to a country with an exemption agreement with Israel, you can acquire a tourist visa upon arriving at either Ben Gurion Airport (Tel Aviv) or the Allenby-King Hussein Bridge border crossing. Typically, citizens from countries like the United States and European nations are granted three-month visas upon arrival, valid for a 90-day period.
However, if your home country does not have an exemption agreement with Israel, it is essential to obtain a visa from the Israeli embassy or consulate in your home country before your visit. It’s worth noting that Israel now issues visas on a separate card containing a barcode to avoid passport stamps, as some Arab countries do not accept Israeli passport stamps. Ensure to verify whether your native country participates in a visa exemption agreement.
What if your passport isn’t suitable for a tourist visa?
Regrettably, individuals from countries such as Pakistan and India must obtain a visa from the Israeli embassy in their respective countries if they wish to volunteer in Palestine. This process can be particularly challenging as Israel maintains control over all entry points. Consequently, securing a visa becomes a prerequisite even before initiating the volunteer application.
Is the West Bank safe?
Yes, the West Bank is relatively safe. Most incidents or conflicts occur in areas far from the main city centers where Arabic programs typically take place. Cities like Hebron, Bethlehem, and Ramallah, where most volunteering programs are hosted, generally maintain a stable and safe environment.
Arabic students often find the local community welcoming and supportive, which adds to the overall feeling of security. Nevertheless, we encourage participants to stay updated on local news and follow any guidance provided by their hosts to ensure their safety.
Is prior knowledge of Arabic required to join the Arabic program?
No, prior knowledge of Arabic is not a requirement to join the Arabic program at Go Palestine. Our program is open to participants of all levels, from complete beginners with zero knowledge of Arabic to advanced learners looking to enhance their skills.
We offer a supportive and inclusive environment tailored to meet you at your current level, ensuring that you can learn, contribute, and grow effectively. Whether you’re just starting your journey with Arabic or seeking to refine your fluency, our program provides the resources and guidance you need to succeed. Join us and make a positive impact while deepening your connection to this remarkable region.
Is it possible to combine this program with another Program?
Yes, this program can be combined with one or more of the other internship or volunteer programs that the center offers. For example, you may choose one week or more to complete this program, and combine this with another week or more of another program.
Can I extend the term of my Program while I’m there?
