These days provide the perfect opportunity to discover enchanting places in Palestine and explore Israeli areas, expanding participants’ perspectives on the complexities of the region. These days off are designed to offer the freedom to travel, learn, and create memories beyond Hebron, ensuring a well-rounded and enriching experience.
Place of Teaching Chinese Program
It takes place in the heart of Palestine, in the city of Hebron. Hebron, Al-Khalil in Arabic, is located in the southern part of the West Bank. It is 30 km (19 miles) south of Jerusalem. The population of Hebron is about 300,000 persons who reside in the city, and about another 500,000 who live in the surrounding villages.
Teaching Chinese Program Content
Teach Chinese in Palestine program simply includes teaching Chinese to Palestinian children ages 6-12 years old, adults, and community members (you can choose which target group you want to work with).
You will be focusing on the conversational part of the language, which includes how to deal in situations, how to answer questions, and how to know the very important words that someone needs in certain subjects.
How long can I participate in the program?
Our volunteers can choose to participate in the program for a period of one to three months. Whatever length of time you choose, we will support you so that you have a great and unique experience at our Center and in this wonderful city of Hebron.
What if it’s my first time teaching Chinese?
If this will be your first time teaching Chinese, don’t worry; our local teachers will be there for you. They will definitely guide, assist, and provide you with all the necessary materials.
In addition, at the beginning of the program, you will be attending Chinese classes to see how teachers manage their classes, which will give you the time to be prepared.

Payment Options
To reserve your place in the program, you must sign the participation contract and pay the participation fees. You can pay the fees through Bank Transfer, Western Union, or MoneyGram. If you choose to pay via Western Union or MoneyGram, you can complete the transaction online using your credit card.
For participation fees that exceed $800, you can pay 40% in advance and the remaining 60% must be paid 45 days prior to the program’s start date. Please note that we cannot accept cash payments, as your participation must be arranged in advance.

The Palestinian Center has hosted people who have come from a myriad of countries, such as the USA, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Colombia, France, Japan, China, Chile, Switzerland, Russia, Germany, and many more.
Since this program focuses on the conversational part of the language then this program fits those who have or have no experience in teaching Chinese, what you need is to speak English very well and have management skills.
The Center welcomes all people who are 18 to 75 years old to apply to the Teach Chinese in Palestine Program. Academic or professional degrees are not required to join the program. The Program may be especially suitable for students who are studying programs in teaching and education, as well as English Literature.

When can I apply to the Program?
We work year-round. Volunteers and interns decide when he/she is available to participate.
We are very flexible when it comes to starting and ending dates.
Do I need to know how to speak Arabic?
No, volunteers are not obligated to know Arabic. The Center will provide you with 3 hours of Arabic lessons each week with one of our teachers.
The participant can choose either to study Modern Standard Arabic (Fusha) or Spoken Arabic Language (known as Ammyia) once they start their program.

there?
Yes, volunteers are allowed to extend their participation period. In this case, volunteers must inform the center coordinator at least one week before the end of the current program.
Overview of weekly schedule
At GO Palestine, we aim to provide a diverse, organized and enriching weekly schedule for our volunteers. This includes a range of educational, social and entertaining activities, which will make your time in Palestine a unique and unforgettable experience
Breakfast starts at 9:30 am
Our center’s day commences with a unique Palestinian breakfast at 9:30 am and concludes around 10:15 am. Our breakfast consists of several ingredients, such as Palestinian thyme (Zaatar), labneh, tomato and cucumber slices, falafel, hummus, mortadella, olives, yellow cheese, jam, pita bread, boiled or fried eggs, and French fries. The ingredients change periodically to vary the breakfast.
The Content of the program starts at 10:30
Program content commences at 10:30 am and lasts until 1:30 or 2:00 pm, involving Chinese Classes to Palestinians (school students, university students, and community members).
Lunch Break starts at 2:00 pm
Lunch break commences at 2:00 pm and lasts an hour, allowing you to purchase lunch from a restaurant next to the center. Nearby restaurants offer meals like shawarma, falafel, fried chicken, traditional Palestinian meals like Maqluba, Hebron’s Qidreh, Chicken Mansaf or Lamp Mansaf, and other dishes. Additionally, several nearby supermarkets/malls provide options to purchase ingredients and cook at the center.
Arabic Language Classes (MSA and Levantine/Colloquial)
Weekly, participants receive two one-and-a-half-hour Arabic language classes taught by qualified teachers, held at various times during the day. Participants can choose to learn Modern Standard Arabic, Colloquial Arabic (Ammiya), or both.
Day Trips to Refugee Camps in Bethlehem & Hebron
A weekly day trip to the refugee camps in Hebron and Bethlehem and politically significant areas is organized, offering the opportunity to learn about Palestinian refugees’ circumstances, converse with them, and hear their stories. Departing at 10:45 am from the center, the trip concludes around 2:00 or 3:00 pm.
Local Visits to Learn about the Landmarks of the city of Hebron
Local visits to Hebron’s historical and economic landmarks occur once every two weeks, including visits to the Ibrahimi Mosque, the Old City, Al-Shuhada Street, and factories such as keffiyeh, glass, and ceramic factories.
Prepare & Cook a Traditional Palestinian Dish
Once every two or three weeks, all our volunteers, interns, and Arabic language’ students join together to prepare and cook a traditional Palestinian dish. This includes preparing appetizers, frying vegetables, cooking rice, chopping chicken or meat, and stuffing some vegetables depending on the dish to be cooked that day.
Free Time starts at 16:00 or at 16:30
Once your time at the center is finished, you’ll have free time to spend with fellow international participants and locals you’ve met in Hebron. You can explore the city by going to a nearby café or coffee shop, or relax in one of the many parks. The center is situated on one of the liveliest streets in the city, so there are plenty of options for you to enjoy your evenings.

We send you the application, you fill out the application and send it back to us.
Our team reviews your application. We invite you for an interview by means of a Skype/WhatsApp call.
We will send you a confirmation form which you fill out and return to us.
We prepare and send you the Invitation Letter andthe Contract. We will also send you the invoice for payment, which will include all the information regarding payment options.
You will sign the contract and make payment in order to reserve your place in the program.
We will send you an Orientation Booklet and travel instructions. These two items will provide you with all the information on how to get to Hebron and contact the Center. One of our coordinators will provide his/her contact number within an email sent to you.
