Volunteering at the Palestinian Center in Hebron.

Because of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, the occupation and the politics of the region, Palestine is one of the world’s most interesting venues. Volunteers see for themselves the realities of the area, the geography of Palestine, and the daily lives of Palestinians under occupation.

As a volunteer, you will receive three hours of Arabic language instruction per week taught by a qualified language teacher. The study materials will be provided to you. To enhance your language learning and immersion, you will live with a host family for the duration of your volunteer program.

This will enable you to practice what you learn in Arabic class, as well as immersing you in Palestinian culture, traditions, customs, and daily life. Daily breakfast will be provided at the Center. In addition, you will be visiting local sites, such as the Ibrahimi Mosque, Al-Shuhada Street, the Russian Orthodox church with its tree under which it is said Moses camped, and the local souq.

Volunteer in Palestine programs includes participating in social and community activities, such as the English club, English conversation day, kids’ entertainment day, food day, as well as workshops and training.  At the end of your volunteer program, you will receive a certificate of participation and a recommendation letter.
