Description of the Islamic Culture in Palestine Program
The Islamic Culture in Palestine program is offered to acquaint participants with Islam and the pillars of Islam, that is, its foundational beliefs, and the cultural aspects that are to be found in the Islamic religion, particularly in Palestine.
The Islamic Culture in Palestine program will enable participants to identify the elements of the general Islamic nation, whether in the Islamic past or present playing out of religion, language, history, values , and common goals. This program will also introduce participants to Islamic law by means of field trips and meetings with clerics, lawyers, and judges working within the Islamic Courts in Hebron City. Participants will also become acquainted with the Sharia rules and the influence of Sharia in Palestine.
What is Islam?
With more than 1.8 billion followers or 24% of the world’s population, Islam is the second-largest religion in the world. Muslims make up the majority of the population in 50 countries.
- Islam teaches that God is merciful, is omnipotent, and it is He who has guided mankind through His prophets and messengers, and the scriptures and verses.
- The important book of Islam is the Qur’an, which Muslims understand as the literal word of God. The Qur’an contains the teachings of Islam, which include the Sunnah (examples for behavior), and Hadiths (rules for behavior) of Muhammad.

Traveling Solo to Palestine
Traveling to Palestine, whether with someone or alone, is an interesting and once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Safety is always a concern no matter where you travel, but with common sense and planning, your travel can be enjoyable, fun, and worry-free, as well as save you money.
- People in Palestine are very friendly, enthusiastic, and eager to help and to talk to people from different cultures and countries.
- The opportunities to interact with internationals will make the day for a Palestinian, and, in turn, this will make your trip more enjoyable and interesting.
- If you are traveling alone, your solitariness will make you more approachable than if you are traveling as a group member.
Do not let your fears and apprehensions paralyze you and rob you of the adventure of a lifetime. Come to Palestine as a solitary traveler and experience its fascinations and beauties. It has been said that “the world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page”. Allow yourself to read the whole book – a book you will never forget!
