No doubt that visiting Palestine is a great way to understand the conflict. Palestine has been known as a place of war, violence, and conflict. Since 1948 when the war between Arabs and Jewish started and this area became more intense. As you might know that the conflict was between Arabs and Jewish but since some Arab countries signed a peace agreement with Israel, the conflict became only between Palestinians and Israelis.
Many people around the world do not really know what’s going on in this area, who are the good guys and the bad guys. The media does not reflect all facts about the conflict, it only shows you what they want.
Once you come to Palestine, you will start to realize that Palestinians have fewer rights than Israelis. For example, Palestinians have no airport, control over borders, and freedom of movement. Here will get the chance to see many of the checkpoints that have been established to control Palestinians’ daily movement, the separation wall that confiscated many of Palestinian lands, and the refugees’ camps that hosted thousands of those who fled as a reason of the war.
Palestine is and still is one of the holiest religious places for the three religions in the world which makes it a place of conflict through history. Here you will meet Israelis and Palestinians where you listen to their daily stories about the conflict including those who live in the refugee camps where they had to leave their houses during the war.
Watching the media is not enough and not the only source that you rely on in order to see the conflict but rather be here and see by your own eyes the daily life for both sides and to meet them in person.
