Hebron or as its called in Arabic Al-Khalil is a Palestinian city which located in the southern part of the West Bank. It is 30 km (19 mile) faraway from Jerusalem and it is the second biggest city after Gaza. In Hebron, there is around 300,000 Palestinians who live in the city and around 500,000 who live in the villages. In Hebron there is around between 500 and 850 Jewish settlers who live on the Palestinian territories illegally.
In Hebron, there are numerous things you have to see while you are visiting this big city in Palestine. Hebron city is full of historical sites, stories and attractions Which reflects the originality and uniqueness of the city and its rich history.
- Ibrahim Mosque
The Ibrahim Mosque is located in the old city of Hebron in the southern part of the West Bank of Palestine. It is similar in construction to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and is surrounded by a great wall that was built of large stones. The length of each of these stones is about seven meters.
It is considered the oldest sacred building that is still being used till today and amazingly, almost without interruption throughout the ages. In addition, the Mosque is the fourth most holy places for Muslims, and the second most holy place for Jews after the Temple Mount.
The Ibrahimi Mosque is divided into two places of worship that will accommodate both Muslims and Jewish worshipers: the Mosque and the Synagogue. The Ibrahimi Mosque site is under very tight security.
Visitors and tourists must present passports and visas, or identity papers in order to pass through the Israeli checkpoints to gain entry to the site. Once through the checkpoint visitors are able to walk freely about.
- Old city in Hebron
Hebron’s old City is located adjacent to the Ibrahimi Mosque. The place is about winding alleys; old houses; shops, and markets which make it worth visiting. Unfortunately Israeli Authorities have shut down large parts of it and deploy Israeli troops to protect the presence of the Jews who seek to control the real estate in that area.

- The Shrine of the Prophet Noah
It is 300 meters away from the center of Dora city which dates back to Ottoman empire, which its stones struggled stones during the time and remained in the heart of heart of Dora to date, embracing as they say the shrine of the Prophet Noah.
- The shrine of Prophet Yunus
This ancient landmark located in Halhoul city at a Mosque attributed to him on top of one of Hebron Mountains.
- The shrine of Prophet Lut
The shrine of Prophet of Lot located in the town of Bani Na’im. it is likely that this place be true, depending on the topography of area. The shrine had cared by Mamluks, as it appears from the inscription on the door of the shrine inside the mosque.
- Abraham’s Oak Holy Trinity Monastery
The Oak Monastery is located to the west of Hebron city, was built at the beginning of the last century. It is the only place for Christians in the whole province, an area of approximately 600 square meters built of stone on a land area 70 Acres where it is shaped as a cross.
It can be said that the thousands of tourists visiting the church to see the sacred Oak which dates back to about 4,500 years. This tree is believed that Abraham and his wife sited under its shadow as well as it is believed that the angels ushered Ibrahim the advent of Isaac when he was underneath the tree.
- Ramah Campus
It is above the spot known as Ramah in Hebron city or Ramah Campus well to the north of city. This site is very important because Abraham Prophet lived in this spot more than once. In addition to this, Ismail also spent part of his childhood and his life with his mother, Hagar according to the novel of bible.
The residents of Hebron believed that Abraham was to build the Cave of the Patriarchs in site, but the cooler of the place and its location which is far from the commercial convoys forced him to change the place.
- Public Museum
This Museum is located in Dari neighborhood near Khan el-Khalili, one of Endowment and archaeological sites in the city. It was originally a Turkish bath known as Ibrahim bath, and based on the decision of President Yasser Arafat has been restored and converted into a museum.

Al-Qaimariya school is one of the oldest schools in Hebron which is located at the northern section of the Ibrahim mosque as well as the school of Sultan Hassan, next to the Tomb of the Patriarchs and dates back more than 900 year and it was offering various fields to study, especially the Islamic studies.
